MAIN PRODUCT HIGHLIGHTS
17AM Thermal Protector |
1. Scope The specification is available for 17AM thermal product. 2. Structure and Material Structure 17AM consists of base, insulator, contact, shrapnel, bimetal sheet, housing, epoxy, conductor. 4. Nippon Steel 4.1 Insulation Voltage The wire and insulation tubing can withstand AC1500V for 1 minute or AC1800V for 1 second without breakdown; leakage current should be less than 1mA 4.2 Insulation Resistance Under normal conditions, the insulation resistance between the wire and insulation tubing should be above 100MΩ (measured with a DC500V megohmmeter) 4.3 Product Resistance Product resistance should be below 50mΩ. 4.4 Product Resistance The product is placed in a 150℃ environment for 96 hours. 4.5 Moisture Resistance Test The product is placed in an environment with 40℃ temperature and 95% relative humidity for 48 hours. 4.6 Drop Test The product is dropped from a height of 70cm onto the ground (plastic or wooden floor) once. 4.7 After the above tests 4.4, 4.5, and 4.6, the product should meet the following conditions: A. Operating temperature change within +/-7℃ of the initial value; B. Contact resistance should be below 50mΩ; C. No obvious deformation in appearance; D. No cracking or damage to the wires. 4.8 All riveted parts must withstand a 5.0Kg pull force without displacement 5. Description of characteristics 5.1 The product is miniaturized and has dual protection functions against overcurrent and temperature. 5.2 Uses conductive bimetal materials to ensure it can withstand normal circuit currents. 5.3 The addition of a PTC heating element provides disconnection protection and delay protection. 5.4 Terminals are available in same-direction and different-direction types, and specific specifications or wire riveting services can be customized as required. 5.5 The product strictly complies with the environmental standards of the EU's ROHS and REACH directives. |
9700 Thermal Protector |
1. Scope The specification is available for 9700 thermal product.
2. Structure and Material 9700 is made up of Base ,Insulator,Contact , Shard,Bimetal,Shell,Epoxy,Lead. 4. Inspection Method & Standards 4.1 Product Internal Resistance The internal resistance of the product is less than 50 mΩ (Reference)In case of device resistance is higher than the specification, please eliminate the oxide film on the contact with following procedure and measure the resistance again. Apply 2-5 A at AC 60-100 V to heat the device, then open and close the contact a few times. After doing the above procedure, it should be acceptable if the contact resistance reduce in the range of specification.
4.2 Electric Strength The product pins (terminals) and insulating casing or insulating sleeve should be able to withstand 1700 V for 1 min, and a short-term test voltage of 2050 V for 1 s without flashover or breakdown.
4.3 Insulation Voltage When the product is disconnected, the pins (terminals) should be able to withstand AC 900 V for 1 min, and a short-term test voltage of 1080 V for 1 s without flashover or breakdown.
4.4 Insulation Resistance The shell surface is coated with metal foil as an experimental electrode and the other terminal. 500 VDC is loaded between the two for 1 min, Insulation resistance 10MΩ.(Inspection Tools: Insulation Resistance and Voltage Withstand Tester) Qualified criterion: 1) Flashover or breakdown should not occur during the test; 2) Glow discharge without voltage drop can be ignored.
5. Environmental Test After the following tests (5.1~5.6), product needs to meet the following requirements: 1) The drift of the operating temperature is less than ±5 ℃; 2) Products meet (4.2 ~ 4.4) requirements; 3) No deformation allowed on plastic case.
5.1 Low Temperature Resistance Test 1) Place the product in incubator at -20 ℃ and keep it for 1 h after the temperature stabilizes; 2) Take it out of the incubator and place it for 2 hours under normal atmospheric conditions,then test the temperature characteristics.
5.2 High Temperature Resistance Test 1) Place the product in incubator with a 1.05 Tmax working temperature of the product, and keep it for 1 h after the temperature stabilizes; 2) Take it out of the incubator and place it for 2 hours under normal atmospheric conditions,then test the temperature characteristics.
5.3 Humidity Test 1) Place the product in a temperature (40 ± 2) ℃, relative humidity (90~96)% in a constant temperature and humidity box, and test for 48 h; 2) Take out the products, place it under normal atmospheric conditions for 2 hours, and then test the temperature characteristics;
5.4 Temperature Impact Test 1) Place the product in incubator for 0.5 h with a temperature of (-20 ± 3) ℃; 2) After taking out the sample and placing it at room temperature for 2~3 minutes, place the product in incubator at 1.05 Tmax ±3 ℃ for 0.5 h; 3) Take out the sample and place it at room temperature for 2~3 minutes;At this point, 1 test cycle is tested, totally 5 test cycles are required.
5.5 Vibration Test Fix the product on a board with sufficient strength. The vibration test bench has a full amplitude of 3 mm in each direction of X, Y, and Z at a frequency of (20~50) Hz. The round-trip time is 5 min and lasts 1 h.
5.6 Drop Test The test surface is a smooth, hard and rigid surface made of concrete or steel. The product falls freely twice from a height of 1 m from the test surface.
5.7 Product Cycle Life Supply the product with rated voltage and maximum operating current (deviation ± 5%), and conduct a contact opening and closing cycle test for heating and cooling of the sample. The maximum frequency is 6 times/min, and the closing time is more than 1 s; Each opening and closing is 1 cycle, the number of cycles is recorded. The number of life cycles should be equal or greater than 10,000. After the above life test, the product should meet the following specifications: The drift of the operating temperature is less than ±5 ℃; Products meet (4.2 ~ 4.4) requirements;
6. Safety Precautions 6.1 Each thermal protector has specific electrical and temperature ratings and must be used with the prescribed ratings. These ratings include Operating Temp. , Recovery Temp. and the electrical Ratings. Please refer to technical data sheet.
6.2 For safety aspect, it shall be replaced by a thermal protector, and mounted in the same way.
6.3 The seal or body of thermal protector must not be damaged, deformed.
6.4 Mounting Thermal Protector Ensure that the lead wire is long enough, and avoid actions such as press, tensile or twist.
6.5 Stress, vibration or other movement caused by expansion and contraction of the parts connected to the leads should be considered when designing the terminal product. A flexible lead or lead with low resistance should be used to connect the thermal protector. 6.6 Contact resistance should be minimal. The joints should be inspected to ensure adequate mechanical bonding of thermal protector leads and connection parts. Improper connection may cause thermal protector to misoperate.
